Andrea Bertolini, researcher in Private Law at Sant’Anna School Dirpolis Institute (Law, Politics, Development), has been invited by the Tongji University School of Medicine (TUSM) and the China National Center for Biotechnology Development (CNCBD), to lecture on governance issues, privacy and social implications associated with emerging neuro-technologies and artificial intelligence.

The OECD (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development) workshop will be held in Shanghai on 6-7 September 2018.  This workshop will focus on recent privacy breaches and misuse of data in the social network community to discuss integrity in neuro-technology governance and promote public trust.

Governments, academia, industry, and policy makers are addressing challenges related to neuro-technologies for neuro-prosthetics, neuromodulators, neuro-rehabilitation, and neuro-sensing (investments are expected to reach USD 12 billion in 2022). Beyond health, neuro-technologies have potential in the fields of education, and information and communication technology.

In the third session, Andrea Bertolini will discuss ethical frameworks and legal issues in the European Union.
